Dystopia

To broach the subject of a flat Earth is to condemn oneself to ridicule—social banishment.
Yet it's a belief that has persisted since antiquity among peoples worldwide.
For it's not merely about mathematics and astronomy—it's also an essentially religious, philosophical, cultural, and eminently political matter. A universal subject?
Paradoxically, since the Age of Enlightenment, belief in a round Earth spinning on itself and through the universe at dizzying speeds has become ingrained in everyone's mind—unshakable.
Yet this belief could also be called chimerical; after all, it rests solely on the reification of science: a world calculated before being observed.
