Résumé
In the spring of 2020, Mont Saint-Michel found itself alone. Freed, for a time, from the ceaseless flow of visitors, it emerged in near-absolute silence, surrounded only by the bay, the sky, and the immutable rhythm of the tides. The great lockdown offered a rare, almost unprecedented, vision of this universally known place.
The photographs in this book bear witness to this timeless interlude. They show a Mont stripped of human bustle, restored to its original dimension: an island of stone, faith, and history. The deserted alleyways, the motionless ramparts, and the silent abbey compose a landscape where every detail regains its power and meaning.
